Update from Crested Butte

Hi friends!

Mark and I have been loving life here in Crested Butte! The past two days we have been riding our bikes all over the trails, up and down the mountains, and of course straight through the mud puddles. Today, was unfortunate though: we had to make a quick pit stop at the emergency clinic to get Mark stitched up. After climbing uphill for almost 2 1/2 hours, we began descending...a little too fast. Mark of course was haulin' and crashed just past his buddy Dave, who was also getting some face time with the mud. Of course we took several pictures and videos, so check 'em out!

Kenda: Tomorrow we plan to ride the most famous trail: the 401. I am looking forward to it. I am learning a lot about riding while we are here. I have learned that I hate the granny gear, don't eat nearly enough, and love riding my brakes. :) It's been nice to ride my new 29"er though! Mark built me a new bike and I am getting to ride it, to really experience the thrill of cruising over rocks, roots, all while not even crashing! Love it!

Mark:  Colorado is beautiful and I am enjoying the time off, spending time with good friends.  We have had epic rides, great home cooked meals, and fun conversations.  I am hoping to heal up a bit over night to do the ride that we came for.  The 401.  We will climb the highest we have been so far and enjoy high alpine meadows and a big decent back into town.  Hopefully no more carnage.  Kenda and I love the mountains and stillness of life up here.

Road Trip

Here I am driving with my soulmate, our dog, and a stowaway weiner dog.

We are headed to Colorado for the mountain bike trip of a lifetime to fabulous crested butte. Since May 1, I have logged over 7,000 miles behind the wheel and are embarking on another 2500 mile trip in the good ol' trusty getting rusty Subaru Forrester. We're listening to the new Jack Johnson cd about being a man and as the rain gently platters the windshield I ponder how life will change in 18 days. This morning I went with my bride to be and helped pick out flowers. Actually, I just said "great idea, love it" which wads one of the five comments to say to my wife (as suggested by the new Mrs.Peregoy 's grandfather). Who knew there would be that many options to choose from. I'm also getting to meet kenda's extended family for the first time. I look forward to meeting everyone from various stories I've been told. We will keep everyone updated on our travels as we are sure to encounter a few hilarious moments along the way. Sent from my iPhone Sent from my iPhone

Rain, Zumba, and Avocados

Right now, I am sitting by the window and watching the rain fall. I hear Zumba music blaring from the other side of the building and I am tasting my avacado and cheese sandwich. I am loving my life. Today is Friday and tomorrow is Saturday, July 3. I am excited for tomorrow because that is when Mark is coming home. Tomorrow, I might also have to go go Austin to pick up a new fork for my awesome 29" er that Mark built for me. I can't wait to ride again with him! We leave on Wednesday for Colorado to see my cousin get married, to introduce Mark to my extended family, and then a week of riding on the famous trails in Crested Butte.

I am almost moved out of my house. Just a few things left, which is good. Mark hasn't seen his current room lately - as it is now become a storage room. Hopefully, he can still find his way around the towers of boxes and tubs of all my stuff. He asked me how much stuff I had before I left, and I didn't think I had a lot....but then, I started packing. I don't know why, but I always find things that I "have to keep" and then the boxes start piling up. Good thing he loves me...for better or worse.

We'll keep you updated as things progress. It's about to start getting crazy!!
